Planet Fitness 'Disco Ball - Director's Cut'

Type:

Recent, Live Action

The good folks at Hill Holiday & Planet Fitness drew a line in the sand. The tagline for their new years eve spot was: Get down with your judgement free self. Rather than have 2019 resolutions to upgrade yourself, boogie with the body you've got. No judgements.

With a little hip-hop here, and a little disco there, we wanted to create an idealized world of Planet Fitness where getting in shape is as fun as rocking out like nobody's watching. Dancing on treadmills? Check. Making the logo out of velvety dripping gold? Check. A discoball man in a yellow track suit? Double check. We played with a camera language where momentum is preserved across the cuts, transporting us around the world of Planet Fitness. Careening from our crazily art directed live action sets to our CG typography layouts in a single, fluid move. JB Smoove as front man brought the funny, and tied it all together.

"With fun, visually compelling blends of live action and animation, we brought the party to us, starting with our Times Square billboards and extending to the rest of our campaign."
